A READING from the book of Wisdom.
The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace. For if to others, indeed, they seem punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself. UNIVERSAL PRAYER
Priest: Brothers and sisters, we turn to our Lord Jesus Christ, who reveals to the world, in the heroism of martyrs, the value of true faith and the holiness of sacrifice.
Lector: 1. For the sake of your martyrs, who remained true to you in death, keep your people in the true faith.

2. For the sake of your martyrs, who testified to You with a free spirit - bless the whole world with the gift of liberty of conscience. – Te rogámus, audi nos!
3. For the sake of your martyrs, who took up their cross to follow You - let us face all of life’s troubles strong in spirit, too. – Te rogámus, audi nos!

A. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body and X Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:

– We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again.

A. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood of Christ,
we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
1. Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Francis our Pope and Peter our Bishop and all the clergy.
2. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with blessed Joseph, her Spouse, with the blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.

At the Saviour’s command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
