Ägidius Johann Zsifkovics was born in Güssing and was brought up in Stinatz. He was ordained a priest in 1987. As the Bishop of the Diocese of Eisenstadt he has been doing a very special service to the Austrian Church, for he needs to lead a congregation that is comprised of Austrian, Croatian and Hungarian faithful too. Earlier he served as the secretary of the Episcopal Conference of Austria.
